Horigorō II portrays Kaoshō Rochishin, a tattooed character himself from the Suikoden, a very popular novel. Horigorō II, like his brother Horigorō III, synthesizes Japanese and Western techniques. Horigorō II holds between his fingers a brush soaked in ink which serves as a reservoir for its needle -as is traditionally customary in tebori- and works with the electric tattoo machine of foreign design.

Horigorō II réalise la représentation de Kaoshō Rochishin, personnage lui-même tatoué tiré d'un roman très populaire, le Suikoden. Horigorō II, comme son frère Horigorō III, synthétise ici les techniques japonaise et occidentale. Il tient ainsi entre ses doigts un pinceau imbibé d'encre qui set de réservoir à ses aiguilles -comme il est traditionnellement d'usage en tebori- et travaille avec la machine électrique à tatouer de conception étrangère.
