🇬🇧 the tattoo writer is a research project based on photographs taken by the Japanese writer Akimitsu Takagi (1920-1995) of the tattoo milieu in Tokyo in the 1950s.
Silver prints from this archive are being offered for sale.
They are made from the original negatives, supplied directly by the rights holders and in agreement with them.
The photographs are printed by hand, by Pierluigi 'Pilou' Giannetti one of the last French master printer of black & white photography (watch the film below), in accordance with the technology of the time.
This manual work makes each photograph a unique piece. On baryta paper.
They are in open edition and each one comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Available formats : 11,8 x 11,8 in ; 19,6 x 19,6 in (30 x 30 cm ; 50 x 50 cm).

🇫🇷 the tattoo writer est un projet de recherche autour des photographies prises par le l'écrivain Akimitsu Takagi (1920-1995) du milieu du tatouage à Tokyo dans les années 1950.
Des tirages argentiques de cette archive sont proposés à la vente.
Ils sont réalisés à partir des négatifs originaux, fournis directement par les ayants droit et en accord avec eux.
Les photographies sont tirées de manière traditionnelle par Pierluigi 'Pilou' Giannetti, un des derniers maîtres tireurs français de la photographie noir & blanc (voir le film ci-dessus), en accord avec la technologie de l'époque.
Cette intervention manuelle fait de chaque photographie une pièce unique. Sur papier baryté.
Toutes les photographies sont proposées en édition ouverte. Chacune est accompagnée d'un certificat d'authenticité.
Les photographies sont disponibles aux formats : 30 x 30cm ; 50 x 50cm.
